About the author
Roy Nakamura is a former senior corporate executive who in 2002, after nearly 25 years in Silicon Valley High Tech, went into entrepreneurship. Since then he has formed and successfully operated three companies. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, he earned an engineering degree at the University of lllinois (Urbana-Champaign) and an MBA in Finance at the University of Chicago, passed the CPA exam, squeezed in a Master's degree in Journalism, pursued graduate work in East Asian Studies, and matriculated at Waseda University in Tokyo for four years. Personally he is a "without-a-life" workaholic, a wannabe golfer, a voracious reader, has an interest in but no time for tournament bridge and "go" (aka "igo" in Japan), has run numerous marathons, half marathons and 10Ks, and serves on various non-profit boards. He and his wife have two grown children, two grandchildren and a rescue dog named Phoebe.
