About the author
Dr. Michelle Robin has been involved in wellness in the Kansas City, Missouri, metropolitan area for 28 years. She is the chief wellness officer (CWO) and founder of Your Wellness Connection, P.A. She graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1991 and opened her own practice in 1992. In 2001 her vision to change people's lives by connecting them to holistic wellness practices and treatments led her to build a state-of-the-art healing facility. She leads a team of 30 members and operates one of the most successful healing centers in the nation, focusing on integrative healing disciplines such as chiropractic, Chinese medicine, massage therapy, functional medicine, counseling, nutritional counseling and coaching, wellness coaching and movement arts. Dr. Robin and her dedication and service to the Kansas City community have been recognized in many ways, including national recognition by the Master's Circle as Chiropractor of the Year (2007) and by the House of Menuha with its Community Service Award (2005); designation as one of the Kansas City Business Journal's Women Who Mean Business (2003); and designation by the Kansas City Small Business Monthly as one of the "Top 25 Under 25 Small Businesses" (2002). She is a regular contributing writer to Flourish! Magazine, a publication for businesswomen, and a regular contributor to other communication publications focusing on health and wellness. Giving back to the community and to the world is very important to Dr. Robin. She has held board positions for a variety of not-for-profit organizations, including KC Free Health Clinic; House of Menuha, an organization dedicated to providing women a quiet space for rest and renewal; and SAFEHOME, an organization dedicated to ending domestic violence and providing a home for women and children in crisis. She currently serves on the board of the Menorah Legacy Foundation, the Advisory Board for KC Free Health Clinic, and the board of Turning Point. Since 2003 Dr. Robin has been a member of the Helzberg Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program (HEMP), an organization started by Barnett Helzberg, Jr. HEMP supports local entrepreneurs through peer-to-peer mentoring. Dr. Robin actively seeks ways to share her wellness message through local an dnational speaking engagements as well as collaborative efforts with other wellness practitioners. She also assists many corporations with the development of wellness programs to keep employees well and thriving. Dr. Robin's other interests include spirituality, travel, reading, biking and basketball. She recently competed in her third triathlon and is committed to striving to be in the best shape of her flie. Dr. Robin has a vision to enhance wellness in people's lives by empowering them to connect to themselves and get back to basic wellness practices. She is a passionate and committed international wellness advocate, and her personal mission statement reads, "I connect and inspire people to live well."
