Learn how to pray as Jesus prayed and discover more about journaling, visualization, prayer vigils, prayer partners and other ways to attain a more effective prayer life.
"God is already supplying whatever good thing we need." We may think that prayer is asking God for favors, yet Jesus Christ taught that it is not necessary to beg for what we need and desire. He showed us the secret of positive prayer--to thankfully, confidently, and joyfully claim our good as heirs of God. Positive prayer aligns our minds with the Mind of God and opens us to the expression of God's abundant good for the betterment of ourselves and all of creation. In the Handbook of Positive Prayer, Hypatia Hasbrouck explores the many practical and uplifting ways that positive prayer can work in your life. She guides you through a powerful seven-step prayer model as well as shares the benefits of visualization, prayer journaling, use of affirmations and denials, and other special prayer treatments and techniques.
About the author
The Reverend Hypatia Hasbrouck began her spiritual studies at a tender young age reading Unity's Wee Wisdom magazine as a child. She applied her understanding through the practical use of positive thinking and positive prayer all of her life. Before entering the ministry, Hypatia spent twenty years in education and drama. After being ordained in 1974, she served as dean of Unity Ministerial School at Unity Village and director of education for the Association of Unity Churches, and was a minister at churches in Missouri, Kansas, and California. Through her years of service, she collected and adapted various prayer techniques. As a result of repeated requests from the ministers-in-training in her classes, Hypatia compiled her most effective techniques in the Handbook of Positive Prayer, now in its first electronic printing. Rev. Hasbrouck's primary objective was to teach the transformative Truth of Jesus Christ and help people apply the principles of practical Christianity to their own spiritual development and in their daily lives. She made her transition in January 2001.
