About The Author


Eric Butterworth celebrated over 50 years as a minister in the nondenominational, nonsectarian movement of Unity. He had a distinguished career as a communicator in a movement primarily devoted to helping people to discover their innateness and "to alter their lives by changing their thoughts." Discovering early the power of radio, he broadcasted on a daily basis for 44 years. His broadcast, aptly called "Eric Butterworth Speaks," was beamed via CBS radio to most major cities in the United States. Eric Butterworth was devoted to finding new and original ways of communicating what he called "the new insight in Truth." He was long considered one of the leading creative thinkers and spokespersons in the Unity movement. He authored 14 books, and most of them are still in print. One of these books, Discover the Power Within You (Harper & Row), is considered a classic in the field of New Thought. In addition, he published hundreds of articles and essays. One reviewer said that Eric Butterworth was truly a twentieth century Emerson.
