Description

The year is 2024 and Colonel Gregor Alexi Nikolanovic, a former Spetznaz operative turned mercenary, infamously known throughout the world as the "Devil's Ghost" has been contracted by a terrorist to strike at the heart of the United States with a dirty bomb. The Ghost, known for his ruthlessness and brutality, is the nemesis of legendary Special Forces operator Colonel Nathan Alexander Warr. Colonel Warr leads his elite force of clandestine warriors based out of a secret underground facility, "The Kennel ", located in the mysterious Area 51. The Kennel also happens to be the hiding place of the famed UFO from the Roswell incident of 1947. This unit will stop at nothing to covertly protect the country from the evil of the terrorists and the Devil's Ghost, who's made it personal this time! Three main conflicts comprise the action in the first of a five novel series: an operation in the Sudanese desert; the threat to the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby; a final battle (or is it?) in a Syrian town near the Jordanian border. There are also small pit stops during this journey to learn the background of all the team members: Brain (the ultra-brilliant female chief scientist), Sandman (the quiet, cheeky sniper), Maxxum (the large hulking heavy weapons expert), Breeze (a well-rounded infiltration specialist), Brick (martial arts and infiltrator), Wingnut (a pilot of questionable sanity), and Tunnel Rat (infiltration and explosives expert). Each of them has their own specialty and history, with all of them functioning together as one cohesive unit. DOGS OF WARR is an exciting debut novel that captures another chapter in the eternal struggle between good and evil. An action/adventure thriller reminiscent of the Tom Clancy SPLINTER CELL franchise and Jack Silkstone's successful self-published PRIMAL series, but with a dash of science fiction thrown in.

About the author

TR Gabriel grew up in rural, small town, west central Wisconsin. Watching the aircraft from nearby Ft. McCoy fly overhead in the summer got him interested in both the military and aviation. He attended the University of Minnesota after graduating high school. Upon graduating from the U of MN, he reported to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA to start his military career in the U.S. Marine Corps. During twenty years on active duty he served as an aircraft ground support equipment technician, a Communications Officer, and a CH-53E Helicopter Pilot. Primarily served on the west coast with numerous overseas deployments. After retiring from the military he took a job supporting the Marine Corps' Operational Test squadron, VMX-1, primarily to support the CH-53K program. He then became the business manager for the small family owned military contracting business in Lexington Park, MD he had worked for as a military contractor. A position at the University of Louisville Hospital brought him and his wife to Louisville, KY where they currently live. After a year with the hospital, and a short stint at Fort Knox, he will finally be settling in with the Flight Program Training Division for a major logistics company in Louisville. His inspiration for his books are the characters he created and drew back in high school (mid to late 1980's) when he was an aspiring comic book artist. Fulfilling one of his bucket list items 'to write a book', he was prompted by his wife to have 'no regrets' and write something. He soon discovered he really enjoyed it and relished the thought of bringing his characters to life. He felt it gave them a depth he could never give them as just pictures on paper. While Dogs of Warr was his first novel completed, the novella for his second group of characters, Skull & Crossbownes, hit the market first as an e-book on Kobo.com . The current plan is for at least five Dogs Of Warr books and up to eight Skull & Crossbownes books. Please note that they should all be considered R -rated for language and violence as the action can be quite graphic. TR and his wife enjoy riding motorcycle, watching football, binge watching good TV shows & movies, and attending concerts. They also enjoy spending time with their family and friends whenever they get the chance.
