Description
Q: What is a quincunx?
A: An arrangement of five objects in a square with one at each corner and one in the middle. "Quincunx theory" asserts that the entire universe is made up of just five types of things, which naturally model themselves after a quincunx.
Q: Really, just five kinds of things?
A: The first two are fairly familiar: physical matter, and forces like gravity. The third is qi, the mysterious energy acupuncturists manipulate. The fourth is luminosity, an even more ephemeral medium described in the books of Carlos Castaneda. The last I call spirit, because it relates to how people understand the soul.
Q: What does your quincunx get you?
A: It creates a common language between the physical world and the world of consciousness. Applying that language, I have been able to address fundamental questions in fields ranging from the hard sciences to areas often deemed as lying beyond rational thought.
Q: Can you give me an example?
A: Okay. Quincunx theory develops a wholly original view of time and space, essentially treating each as local rather than global phenomena. The resulting model ended up solving problems in unified field theory, relativity, quantum mechanics, and more.
Q: Does your theory also apply to people?
A: It does. Quincunx theory showed me exactly how qi (the "life force") is able to animate the physical body. This new understanding of qi proved itself again and again, ultimately revealing the true nature of illness, aging, and death.
Q: What about the mind?
A: Quincunx theory helped me sort out everything from where our memories are stored to the differences between men and women. It also solved a classic philosophical problem, the question of how the mind and body relate to one another.
Q: This pattern you found really did all that?
A: Yes. Before it was done, quincunx theory had taken me into areas I never imagined, including the realm of the paranormal, weighing in on everything from ESP to levitation. It even offered up a new take on the meaning of life, suggesting that human evolution and the evolution of the Earth as a living planet are intimately intertwined.
Q: Anything else?
A: Lots, but I'll just add one more. A few years back, everyone got pretty excited about the Mayan calendar and the idea that a new age was coming. Quincunx theory suggests that they were right, although what happened was not exactly what people think. I call it the start of the Fire Age.
