Author Info

Eulalio Paul Cane studied physics, mathematics, philosophy, and religion before earning a degree in computer science. Although naturally rigorous in his approach to knowledge, his academic work left him with a sense that science was inherently limited when it came to addressing the full breadth of human experience. Ultimately, this led him to give up a promising career in artificial intelligence and move to the desert southwest. There he devoted his life to various practices of meditation, yoga, qigong, and martial arts, as well as the traditional living skills of Native America.

In the late 1990s, the author suffered a severe mind-body collapse that caused him to reevaluate everything he thought he knew. In healing himself over several years, he was led to a new understanding of how consciousness relates to the material world. Based on this initial insight, he embarked on a philosophical quest to develop a more encompassing approach to human knowledge. This was the seed of "quincunx theory,” a universal pattern that now underlies all his work.
