The Great Awakening is the second book in the SiBoRE series by Arthur F Seymour. Taking place some years after Earth Won, Ruby and Seymour are married and have a family. Living in a castle inside a cave, they know their sons and daughter are their priority. When a global pandemic puts everyone to sleep, the only way their community can survive is to put their community on lockdown and away from the rest of the world. While they can hide forever inside, that is not the best option. So, it becomes the job of everyone inside the cave to save the world from this horrible pandemic and bring life back to normal. But is it possible? How can they when they have to fight against the evil creature?
Reading The Great Awakening was the most calming yet entertaining experience. Arthur F Seymour craftily creates a believable world in which robots and humans work together to fight off a common enemy. The intrigue behind the virus, how Seymour and his team work together to find a cure, and the presence of the white crow Sally all work together incredibly well. This novel is short, so I am very surprised at how cohesive and complete it is. In less than a hundred pages, the author gives a fast-paced, action-packed story with well-rounded characters and an incredibly rich plot. The story provides a unique yet very fulfilling reading experience with QR codes. I love the dry sense of humor in the story. I love the educational perspective, and I thoroughly enjoyed the poems and literary diversity in the story.
