THE BUCKTAIL BROTHERS SERIES combines the two paperbacks, THE BUCKTAIL BROTHERS OF THE FIGHTING 149TH and THE BUCKTAIL BROTHERS: BRAVE MEN'S BLOOD, into one great adventure that relates the entire history of the New Bucktail Regiment. Told through the eyes of farm boy recruits, Henry and Willie Cole, the novel details the training, marching, and fighting these youths experienced, along with their suffering and heroism. After losing 80% of their comrades on the first day's battle at Gettysburg near McPherson's barn, the Coles are plunged into grueling combat in the Wilderness and at Spotsylvania Court House, North Anna, Cold Harbor, and Petersburg. Add a tour of duty guarding the infamous Elmira Prison Camp, and they visit every circle of Civil War hell. Learn how their experiences mold the boys into men as they add to the legend of the famed Pennsylvania Bucktails.

About the author

William P. Robertson graduated from Mansfield University in 1972 with a BS in English. Since then, he has worked in factories, taught high school English, and run a successful house painting business. He began freelancing short stories, poetry, and articles in 1978 and has been published in over 500 magazines in the U.S., Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Romania, Australia, New Zealand, and Malaysia. He has also published eleven poetry collections, two audio books of horror verse, four volumes of short stories, a Viking novel, nine Bucktail novels, and two French and Indian War novels (co-written with David Rimer). In his spare time, Bill enjoys photography, trout fishing, and Civil War reenacting. He belongs to the Company I, 42nd Bucktails of McKean County in Pennsylvania.
