Description

The title of the book, SEEKING RUTH'S HEAVEN, comes from the Bible. Ruth, a Moabite woman, sought refuge in Israel's God through her love for Naomi (Ruth's mother-in-law). The tale is a beautiful love story illustrating the blessings that come from seeking refuge in God. These one hundred poems written forty plus years ago contrast the glories of God to the weaknesses and failings of mankind. The author's intention is to highlight the majesty and mercy of God. The writings address the daily haunting questions of contemporary life in an often confusing and sometimes inhumane world. Does God exist? Do I have a soul? Is there life after death? If God is good and all-powerful, why does He allow sin, pain, and suffering in the world? Why should I believe The Bible? Why do "bad things" happen to "good" people? What do I have to do to be saved? Capt. Howington's prayer is that these writings will strengthen the Faith of the believer and to provide encouragement and knowledge about God to the non-believer.
