J. Silverpine lives with her daughter in a mixed-conifer forest. Secrets of the Ancient Grove is Ms. Silverpine’s first published work, but she has written other (as yet unpublished) works including screenplays, short stories, poetry, and folk songs. She studied writing, music, and history in college and ecology in graduate school. Ms. Silverpine has worked as a technical writer and raw vegan chef, but the endeavors most dear to her heart have been home-schooling her daughter, writing this novel, and running an ecology camp for children in the Trees she lives with.
