About the author
Ara John Movsesian was born in Troy, New York in 1949 and moved to Fresno in California's San Joaquin Valley in 1955. He attended local schools and ultimately graduated from the University of California at Berkeley from where he received a Masters Degree in Architecture. He is a licensed Architect in the State of California. His avocation, however, is writing and in addition to Rinny Raccoon, he has authored two other books including "Pearls of Love" which has been in print for over twenty-five years. During his youth, Ara met Marjorie Rodgers who was his friend Richard's mother. Marjorie happened to be an accomplished artist who is known for her beautiful watercolors and striking oil paintings. In the mid 1980's, Ara asked Marjorie to create a series of watercolor illustrations that depict the story of a small Raccoon who gets lost, is adopted by her own children, grows up and finally returns to its rightful home. This she did, however, it took twenty plus more years before Ara's account of events and Marjorie's colorful images finally came together in this simple book of love for all to enjoy.
