About the author
Ara John Movsesian was born on June 16, 1949, in Troy, New York. In 1955, he and his family moved to California's San Joaquin Valley and settled in the city of Fresno where he spent his childhood and adolescence. While still in his teens, he began to write songs for personal enjoyment and a love of poetry grew out of this pastime. Perhaps the fact that his mother was an accomplished poet in her native language, Armenian, helped inspire him to begin this life-long endeavor.
In 1969, Ara entered the University of California at Berkeley from where, in 1974, he graduated with a Masters Degree in Architecture. He is a licensed architect and a published poet whose works have touched many lives. To him, his vocation and avocation are interrelated endeavors. "One cannot separate Writing, a romantic and creative process, from Architecture, a visionary profession." They both require inspiration, technical ability and discipline. Pearls of Love is his first major literary work that combines poetry and prose to create a comprehensive and valuable guide to expressing love through the written word.
