About the author

Don Bullis graduated from Eastern New Mexico University at Portales in 1970 with a Bachelors Degree in History and English. In the years since, he has worked as a small-town New Mexico newspaper editor and columnist and as a deputy sheriff and town marshal. He retired from the New Mexico Department of Public Safety in 2002. He has written nine books—including two novels: Bloodville (2002) and Bull’s Eye (2006), the latter of which was a finalist in the novel/mystery category of the New Mexico Book Awards. Two of his non-fiction books, New Mexico: A Biographical Dictionary, Volumes I and II, have won numerous awards, including Best Book on New Mexico. He is currently at work on two additional non-fiction books. He lives in Rio Rancho, New Mexico with his wife, Gloria.
