About the author

Suzanne Smith is a former research scientist who has been writing stories, poems, and nonfiction since she was five years old. She is the author of four previous books, Pumpkin Recipes—a collection of exciting recipes using the humble pumpkin; Recipes for Romance—a compilation of recipes for every stage of courtship, including the time when your nest is empty and you’re rekindling your romance; The Standard Schnauzer in America: Sourcebook II; and Handbook for the International Information Economy. A member of New Mexico Book Association, Southwest Writers, Romance Writers of America and two of its chapters, and Los Alamos Writers Group, she teaches writing classes at the University of New Mexico at Los Alamos and is hard at work on several new fiction and nonfiction writing projects. In her spare time, she grows orchids and herbs, tends her roses, teaches piano to adults, gives an occasional piano concert, and romps with her dogs, who grudgingly consent to be exhibited at random dog shows. She invented some of the recipes in this book and collected others from friends, family, and colleagues in her travels around the world with her husband, Ron, who indulges her in all her obsessions du jour.
