Dead at Fifty is Jameel Karim's sophomore project; a journey of poetry chronicling the life of a man from birth until he reaches the age of 50. The reader is taken through a ride of intellectual and emotional experiences that result in the cultivation and arrival of one from the mold of a child to the silhouette of a man.
Description
In this piece of fifty poems separated into five chapters, each poem being a symbolic reference of a year in the author's life from a creative standpoint, is prepared in an artistic and emotional fashion to teach and immerse the reader in a heart-moving story of growth, tragedy, love, and happiness and sadness that all can relate to. Each chapter transitions readers to a new phase and maturity of the author's life.
About the author
JAMEEL F. KARIM was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. His freshman project as an author is the piece titled The Green Fields, an historic fiction piece taking place in Palestine during 1948 up until the 1980s. Dead at Fifty, his latest and current project, is his sophomore dropping into the world of literature, which he began writing in 2021. Within the Chicagoland area, Karim involves his time in volunteer efforts for Muslims. Also, he works as a youth mentor and teacher for young believers.
