Dead at Fifty is Jameel Karim's sophomore project; a journey of poetry chronicling the life of a man from birth until he reaches the age of 50. The reader is taken through a ride of intellectual and emotional experiences that result in the cultivation and arrival of one from the mold of a child to the silhouette of a man.
In this piece of fifty poems separated into five chapters, each poem being a symbolic reference of a year in the author's life from a creative standpoint, is prepared in an artistic and emotional fashion to teach and immerse the reader in a heart-moving story of growth, tragedy, love, and happiness and sadness that all can relate to. Each chapter transitions readers to a new phase and maturity of the author's life.
