Peter R. "Pete" Cavalier spent forty years in the banking industry, thirty-six of them at Citibank in New York City, before his retirement in September 2016. A graduate of Washington & Lee University, with an M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University, he lives with his wife, Marjorie, in Red Bank, NJ. He raised three sons at the Jersey Shore, all of whom are married and starting their own families.
The inspiration for his first novel, "Bank Street", grew out of a desire to share his initial experiences in the workplace and to strike a nostalgic chord with the "baby boomer" generation. It is a coming-of-age story set in the late 1970s during a period of rapid social change. "Bank Street" was released in October, 2019.
The sequel, "Flanagan's Flight", picks up where "Bank Street" left off in late 1978, and follows protagonists Jerry and Maria Flanagan as they navigate the turbulent waters of marriage, balancing work and grad school, switching jobs, buying a home and starting a family. Set in the 1980s, it features many of the pivotal characters from the first book, along with some new and colorful individuals who influence Jerry and Maria's lives and careers. "Flanagan's Flight" was released on February 19, 2021.
