I started collecting Tonka Toys in 1993 when my wife purchased a mini Tonka cement mixer for my office shelf. We had lots of Tonka's growing up but with 4 brothers and most of our days spent outdoors, most never survived. I love the history of Tonka and it's past employee's. I've been fortunate to have meet and spent many hours hearing stories from managers, modelers and floor workers.
I currently have around 4,000 Tonka's in my collection from the US, Canada, Japan and New Zealand! Each plant has it's own story and built different model/versions of toys. The one thing they had in common is the same high quality that other manufactures didn't have. These were manufactured as toys but they are more like art to me. Happy Tonka Hunting!
