About the Author

Author Info

Colleen McIntosh was born in Northern Maine and to this day a proud “Maine-iac.” She has always been interested in writing. As a child writing her mother daily notes of her impossible demands—to her numerous boxes filled with diaries of her every waking moment—to her multiple attempts to write romance novels and humorous plays—to date, compiling her many notepads filled with menopausal angst and aging woes into this humbling, humorous and sometimes horrific menopause book.

Her first career was as an actress—singing, dancing and wowing audiences in a few continents. She then turned to advertising as a production manager and prop stylist in commercial photography. She recently retired after 21 years so she could finish this autobiographical book.

Colleen is now an author and sharing this menopausal memoir with the world. She lives in Baltimore, Maryland with her husband, Ed, who is her biggest critic and champion. And their very patient furballs.

Colleen believes that humor is the essence of life—right up there with breathing. She could not have made it through menopause without it. She hopes that writing this book will make people sit up and pay attention to every woman they know and meet. If you laugh a lot and cry a little while reading this book—then she has succeeded in her quest.
