Kay Gates, or Sister Kay and Mom Kay as we know her, is a resident of Virginia in the United States. She is the mother of two young men and a grandmother. Kay has been physically challenged most of her life and to the surprise of many she ministers from a wheelchair. Kay was called into ministry in the 80s and has dedicated her life to spreading the Good News and the healing love of Christ. She is blessed with good health and has ministered as far west as Manila, Cebu, and Lucena in the Philippines and as far east as Rome and throughout the United States. Early in her calling, God told Kay to embrace those who came to her and to use her arms to convey the love and compassion of Jesus. This Jesus Hug causes fears and barriers to fall as people surrender to the love of Jesus. Many thousands have witnessed the changes, both physical and emotional, that occur when people surrender their fears to the Jesus Hug. Many souls have returned to the Church after praying with Kay as she lovingly directs them to kneel before the Tabernacle and give thanks, then to the Sacrament of Reconciliation in repentance, and finally to the Holy Eucharist in joy and thanksgiving. Kay has authored numerous books detailing her call to service, proclaiming the healing love of Jesus, and helping us all to better understand the life God has called us to live. She nurtures communities of followers in Virginia, Arizona, and the Philippines. In turn, those same communities nurture her and bless her work. Kay is truly a servant of God.
