Author Info

David Givot graduated from the Daniel Freeman Paramedic School in Los Angeles in 1989. He worked until the turn of the century running 911 calls in three different cities within Los Angeles County, before joining a consulting group traveling around the United States helping distressed EMS agencies improve performance and care. After serving as the Director of Operations for Maryland’s largest commercial ambulance provider at the time, he returned with his wife and newborn daughter to California and attended Law School. In 2008, David opened his own law firm centered on defending EMS providers facing licensure discipline. In addition to a thriving law practice, David travels around the country teaching EMS providers about the law, documentation, how to avoid legal entanglements, and how to manage them when they happen. David remains committed to doing his part to contribute to the constant improvement of EMS by helping providers protect themselves and the patients and communities they serve.
