David Givot is a former paramedic turned EMS defense lawyer with a passion for improving emergency medical services. After graduating from Daniel Freeman Paramedic School in Los Angeles in 1989, he spent over a decade responding to 911 calls in various cities across LA County. Later, David joined a consulting group that traveled the US, assisting struggling EMS agencies in enhancing their performance and care. After serving as the Director of Operations for Maryland's largest commercial ambulance provider at the time, David returned to California to attend law school. In 2008, he established his own criminal defense law firm, with an emphasis on defending EMS providers facing licensure discipline. David's commitment to EMS extends beyond his legal practice. He travels across the country, educating EMS providers about the law, documentation, legal entanglement prevention, and effective management strategies when issues arise. Through his law practice and teaching, David strives to contribute to the ongoing betterment of EMS, empowering providers to protect themselves, their patients, and the communities they serve.
