Claudia Kronk is a social entrepreneur, self-taught baker, and author of "Baking with the Planet in Mind: Tips and Tools for Zero Waste Baking for the Whole Family." From age three, her love for spending quality time in the kitchen with her family led to a love for baking. At age 13, Claudia's home-based bakery business, Desserts by Claudia, was born. Through her work selling to restaurants and the film industry, she found a passion much bigger than baking: finding ways to lessen food waste and fight food insecurity. Her community-level efforts to fight food insecurity sparked the idea to become an author, with her latest book emphasizing the importance of educating kids about making planet-conscious decisions inside and outside the kitchen. She's been recognized on local TV, radio, and newspapers and featured in the Pennsylvania Film Industry newsletter. Outside of her business, Claudia loves reading, running, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and her five dogs. She looks forward to studying public policy in college to continue her efforts to positively impact societal issues.
