Katherine Liang Chew is the author of A String of Beads and Other Stories, The Magical Dumplings and Other Chinese Fables, and Tales of the Teahouse Retold: The Investiture of the Gods. Born in China, as a young adult she immigrated to the USA, where she became a librarian, taught Chinese civilization and culture, and worked as an interpreter. She re-creates the fables of her childhood from her home in Irvine, California.
The illustrator, Frances Sze-Ling Chew, has worked in watercolor and silkscreen for many years. A biologist, teacher, and counselor, she works from her studio in Somerville, Massachusetts.
Sally Feng, Chinese and English editor, was born in Hunan, China. She lived in Japan and Taiwan before immigrating to the USA. Languages have always fascinated her. She now promotes multicultural exchange, practices Chinese calligraphy, participates in small group discussions and is learning harmonica in southern California.
Wei Li, Chinese editor, grew up in Qingdao, China before coming to the US, where she attended university and became a biologist. She created a video talk series on the Dao De Jing by Lao Tzu and works with practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine in eastern Massachusetts.
