Graeme McCreath believes now is the time to establish a system that allows the blind to achieve autonomy rather than having to rely on charity. “We can show our capabilities and push the federal government to persuade potential employers to ‘give it a try.’ We should apply for the jobs the same as everyone else and be held to the same standard.”

Graeme McCreath lives with his wife and family in Victoria,BC working as a physiotherapist in his private practise. Born in the United Kingdom, he became blind when he was nine and was sent away to residential schools for the blind until the age of 19. Initially trained as a shorthand typist, Graeme has beaten the odds and managed to work all his life.
