About the author
Bill Woodcock, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, grew up in Elkridge and was educated in the Howard County Public School System. He later attended The Johns Hopkins University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and a Master of Science degree in Business.
With a diverse professional background, Bill has experience in biomedical research management and administration, public health, and arts management, primarily in government and academic sectors. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Civically engaged, Bill has contributed to numerous organizations as a volunteer, often serving in leadership roles. Despite an unsuccessful run for the Maryland House of Delegates in 1998, he has cherished his time on the Oakland Mills Community Association Board of Directors, the Inner Arbor Trust Board of Directors, and as a founding member of the Maryland Student Legislature. Additionally, he has enjoyed volunteering with Kappa Sigma Fraternity and coaching youth sports in basketball, lacrosse, and football.
As the author of the popular blog "53 Beers on Tap" and founder of the Forward Maryland podcast, Bill has written over 2,100 blog posts and recorded over 220 podcast episodes. A proud father of two adult children, he currently resides in Columbia, Maryland.
