by Apirat Kongchanagul

Overview
This book provides an overview of the hedge fund industry, the frameworks hedge funds use to predict, precipitate and profit from financial crises, and potential policy options to limit the risks posed by hedge funds while allowing hedge funds to play their role in helping to make capital allocation within economies more efficient. The book will enable readers to see how three fields of study (i.e. economics, finance and investing) are interconnected and to generate investment and policy insights from that illustration. Hedge fund analysts, traders and graduate students looking to join hedge funds/trading will better understand how to find speculative targets to bet against, while policy makers and policy enthusiasts will better understand how to prevent and mitigate speculative attacks by hedge funds and traders. This book is suitable for beginner and intermediate readers. More advance readers who would like to go into greater depth are suggested to dig into the books and academic papers listed in the References section.
