About the author
Bob Weinstein has built a career as a journalist, writer, author and syndicated columnist. He mastered his craft working for newspapers, magazines and newsletters. He created a weekly syndicated column, Tech Watch, the first technology-career column, which was distributed by King Features (the Hearst Corp.) to large daily newspapers throughout the United States. He authored 13 career books, published by major publishers such as Simon & Schuster, Macmillan, McGraw-Hill, Prentice Hall and Henry Holt. Over a 40-plus-year career Bob has covered several beats, searching for one where he could make a unique contribution. He found it in the workplace.
From the onset, Bob separated himself from the management consultants, psychologists, human-resources professionals and coaches who wrote career books concentrating solely on the methods and strategies needed to find and land jobs. Unquestionably, mastering career-building strategies is vital, but equally important is the human component, the people needed to fill the thousands of jobs that keep our economy functioning. Bob describes himself as a workplace writer, because he approaches his subject from a holistic, journalistic perspective.
“The workplace is just as much about people as it is about jobs,” he says. “Most people define themselves by what they do for a living. Far more than a weekly paycheck, work is an outlet for our talents, skills and passions.”
Bob’s books and articles embrace all the essential dynamics that define the world of work. What better example of his holistic approach than his recent E-book, SO WHAT IF I’M 65, a career and life guide written for his generation.
SO WHAT IF I’M 65 touches on all the sensitive issues surrounding age discrimination and stereotyping that bar older workers from jobs.
