Photography Art Book Volume 4
by William Perrigen

Overview

SankShuned Photography Art Book Volume 4 captures my first trip to Egypt. I show photographs which highlight my 14 day journey through Egypt. I wanted to document my adventure so I could share my experience with the folks back home who might not ever get the chance to travel to Africa. Through my photography and QR codes, I've tried to create an amazing virtual experience for the viewer. Also included are two incredible interviews with cultural historian, Anthony Browder and Egyptian historian, Heba Seoudi.

Description

SankShuned Photography Art Book Volume 4 captures my first trip to Egypt. I traveled through Egypt on a fast paced 14 day journey from Cairo, up the Nile and back to Cairo. Egypt is amazing, beautiful and in so many ways intriguing. When I created SankShuned, I never thought it could be used as an academic tool for teaching. But my eyes have been opened to the possibilities. While doing the research into Egyptian history, I developed so many questions. For example, Egypt is in Africa, so are Egyptians, Africans? And who were the ancient inhabitants of this land before it became Egypt? If the temples, tombs and ancient structures are thousands of years old who built them? And what inspired them to build these magnificent structures? Along with beautiful photographs SankShuned Volume 4 includes two incredible interviews, one with educational consultant and cultural historian, Anthony Browder and Egyptian historian and educator, Heba Seoudi. America and the rest of the world is doing so much to try and erase African history, when we should be celebrating Black History/Culture and its contributions to the world. With SankShuned, I am trying to do my part by preserving our stories through photographs and educational dialogue and keeping our histories alive.
