She soon learns that Arthur, the small man holding her wants to use her legal skills to avenge his daughter's death. Sam disagrees with his methods and uses her super human skills to save herself and capture him. Samantha served with the Judge Advocate Generals' Corp in the military. While stationed in Afghanistan, she stepped on a land mine causing her to lose both feet and one eye. The Navy replaced her missing parts, giving her some super human powers to use in her chosen line of work, representing those whom society would like destroyed.
About the author
Alexandra Hawthorne is a cozy mystery writer. After retiring from the practice of law, she turned her experiences into a series of stories featuring lawyers such as Penny Johnson, middle aged recently licensed attorney-at-law, Neal Wainwright, young, ambitious and restless, who solves the crime while defending their clients and Samantha Duggan who uses her bionic feet when caught in a difficult situation. All are managed by Althea Riversmith who rules the office with a velvet glove while leading the Midvale Corners Literary and Investigatory Society. Her books have a touch of humor, a bit of justice, and some interesting characters.
