by Grandpa Doc Middleton

Overview
A trip to the marionette stage at the park where there is a new puppeteer. He brings no joy, and the plays go badly. This book accompanies a song, and also a read along recording which are available free online or on a CD which may be purchased from the author. Grandpa Doc calls this a "tragic tale" and describes this idea to the reader in the recording. This book could be enjoyed by any age group, but may be best suited to sixth grade and up where they might be ready to study stories that benefit from some deeper analysis. This book began as a rhyming song, then became a book. The lyrics, chords, and musical score are included in the book.

About the author
After years of waiting, and anticipation, "Doc" Middleton finally became a Grandfather. So "Doc Middleton" became "Grandpa Doc Middleton" and at about the same time his final career as a musician, song writer, children's book author began. Other song writers suggested that one of his songs sounded as if it would be a good story for a children's book, and Grandpa Doc agreed. The results are "Eechee, He and She", "Mosquito and the Farmer", and now, "Puppeteer". The books begin as songs, are converted into books, the musical score and lyrics are included, and access to the recordings are available on line or in CD's. Grandpa Doc hopes to be able to encourage young folks to think independently, to have confidence in their own ideas, and to be aware of some of the subtleties of maneuvering through life's challenges.
