My name is Barbara, I’m 72 years old, and I live in Charlotte, NC with my husband of 53 years. I wrote Paté, Paste and Patience because I thought I could write a story that would be enjoyed by others of the Silent Generation and the Baby Boomers. Something happened along the way, though. As I did research on ageing, I noticed a pervasive theme that kept popping up…ageism and ableism. We were being discriminated against because we were old and many of us had physical compromises. Yes, we are these things, but most of us are looking forward to making our last chapter of life the best chapter, much like Camille and Sarah are doing in Paré, Paste and Patience.
