Overview

This book is not a story about an old woman overcoming physical hardship. This is a fun, fictional story about a 73 year old woman, completely immersed in living a life that determines her own destination.

Description

Camille proves to her son, Brian, that she can live on her own, in her own home and on her own terms. You'll enjoy this story as she and her best friend Sarah try their hand at French cooking, and an interpersonal class called Dealing With Difficult People. And...would you believe me when I tell you she even enrolled in an Internal Construction class? She does, and her construction partner, dubbed Grumpy Guy, dishes out a little ageism and ableism and she copes with it with the dignity only a 73 year old woman can.

About the author

My name is Barbara, I’m 72 years old, and I live in Charlotte, NC with my husband of 53 years. I wrote Paté, Paste and Patience because I thought I could write a story that would be enjoyed by others of the Silent Generation and the Baby Boomers. Something happened along the way, though. As I did research on ageing, I noticed a pervasive theme that kept popping up…ageism and ableism. We were being discriminated against because we were old and many of us had physical compromises. Yes, we are these things, but most of us are looking forward to making our last chapter of life the best chapter, much like Camille and Sarah are doing in Paré, Paste and Patience.
