Description
P is for Prototype tells the story of a young girl who struggles to have her ideas accepted by her class. In spite of this, she is able to construct a functioning prototype by persevering and believing in herself. With her success, she gains confidence in her abilities and respect from her classmates. P is for Prototype was written by the Space Cookies, FIRST Robotics Team 1868. We were founded in 2006 as a partnership between NASA and the Girl Scouts to inspire and prepare the next generation of technology leaders. After the success of our first children’s book, Amy & Jada Rescue a Robot, we decided to create P is for Prototype. With this book, we hope to spread the message that girls always have the option to actively participate in STEM, and encourage young leaders to take initiative to put their ideas in action. While every Space Cookie contributed in some way to P is for Prototype, we would like to give special thanks to a core group who spent countless hours writing, illustrating, and producing our second children’s book.
