by Hadi Bahar, M.D.

Overview
This book presents 45 Iranian physicians of the past century who were not only practitioners of medicine but also famous poets, writers, and/or politicians. All of these physicians had doctorate degrees from accredited modern medical schools in Iran or abroad. The pseudo-physicians who call themselves doctors in traditional Iranian medicine or doctors in Islamic medicine are not included here, as they do not practice evidence-based medicine
Description
In this book you will find beautiful examples of classical and modern Persian poetry, prose, plays, and political statements which reflect the sociological, political, and cultural status of the period. In selecting these physicians, I did not consider their political or religious beliefs, but only their poems, writings, statements, and other cultural contributions to society. There are many more physicians who could be included in this book, but due to limited space, I must consider them for a possible second book in the future. This book is dedicated to the late Mehdi Bahar, M.D. who was not only an astute diagnostician of children's diseases, but also correctly diagnosed the true nature of Islamic government and its dangers to society. He wrote about this extensively prior to the revolution, but even self-proclaimed "intellectuals" did not heed his warnings. The events that followed the Islamic Revolution clearly showed how accurate Mehdi Bahar was in his predictions.
