About the author
LaSaan Georgeson, a former corporate executive turned sommelier, raises a toast to creating and living out one’s dreams. After a successful career in human resources, LaSaan decided to live, breathe, and drink the knowledge of wines, spirits and beer. She trained at International Sommelier Guild, The Court of Master Sommeliers, and Wine, Spirits and Education Trust.
An entrepreneur at heart, LaSaan is passionate about helping people appreciate and distinguish the many different tastes on their palate in many different ways. She has founded Private Bar Concept, a traveling wine symposium discussing all things wine and is also the creator of Bwinedate.com, a 3,000+ and growing online and in-person community of wine enthusiasts. Bwinedate connects singles through their mutual interest in wine and also helps couples create connections with other wine enthusiasts through fun local wine activities and events.
LaSaan created the book If A Wine Were Me Which Would it Be based upon the service, Bwinedate.com. The book makes learning about wine more approachable by simplifying the complexities of different wines through personification and by attributing human characteristics to specific varietals. One of the animated descriptors from the book describes the personality of a medium to full body white varietal: “I come with an easy attitude as I’m hardy and a neutral balance with minimal needs. I am comfortable and confident in my skin...”. As well, the book provides tips for pairing foods in a whimsical and creative manner.
The book encourages readers to sit back, relax, pour, swirl, sniff and sip while making new discoveries about wine varietals and uncovering which wine’s personality is most like them.
