High on a Mountain: An Oral History of Jamgrass in Colorado, features interviews with a host of musical artists related to the genre of jamgrass and examines the roots of the well-appreciated sound. Hutchinson speaks with foundational players including Sam Bush, Béla Fleck, Tim O'Brien, Vince Herman and Peter Rowan. The book includes one of former Yonder Mountain String Band leader Jeff Austin's last interviews, as well as chats with some of his former bandmates, and takes in viewpoints from Chris Pandolfi, Drew Emmitt, Tim Carbone, Nick Forster and many notable others. It also touches on the early history of the music, with its ties to the British Isles and Africa, and muses on how it might evolve in the future.
