About the author
Rebecca Gower is a mother, survivor of infertility, Homeopath, Reiki practitioner and healer. She specializes in supporting women struggling with infertility and difficult pregnancies to feel healthier, stronger and empowered through one-on-one support, stress reduction and natural medicine. Rebecca began her journey as an academic. Rebecca excelled in graduate school which included publication of an article in an academic journal at just 25 years old. Her master’s thesis was on the intersection of sex, gender, health and wellness in nineteenth century East Africa. However, she felt something was missing. This led to leaving academia and spending the next ten years being of service to others including youth, pregnant women and families with young children and people living with HIV/AIDS. Again, something was missing. At this point, Rebecca was dealing with some health issues such as severe allergies and candida. This is when Homeopathic medicine entered her life. Homeopathy helped to resolve her allergies and candida. Since that time it has helped to clear up colds and flus; injuries; and much more. She is an honours graduate of the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine and has completed graduate education with Andre Saine, Joseph Kellerstein and Klaus Scheimann-Burkhardt. After experiencing Reiki (a hands-on energy healing) from a yoga instructor, Rebecca decided to pursue Reiki training. As of October 2012, she will have completed Reiki Level II. She currently works with people through her private practice in Toronto, Ontario; as well as with people throughout the world. She has published numerous articles in print and on-line including Vitality Magazine, Natural Mothering, All Things Healing, Positivelite. Rebecca also facilitates dynamic workshops and presentations on health and healing. Previous venues have included the Big Carrot, LGBT Health Matters Week, ACT, PWA, the 519 Community Centre.
