About the author
Dr. Dennis Dunham has served as Executive Director of International Services at the University of Central Oklahoma since July 2006. Prior to that he served as Vice President for International Affairs at Oklahoma City University, building up their study abroad program and leading teams which brought thousands of international students to Oklahoma.
He is a key member of the National Association of Foreign Student Advisors, receiving their Outstanding Service Award and being requested to participate in Washington D.C. numerous times on long time Recruitment and Planning for America. He has been a member of the Rotary, Lions Club, Jaycees, and other civic organizations. Dr. Dunham has to his credit "Malaysian American Society Leadership Award" and "Leadership Award" by Management Development Institute of Singapore. Dr. Dunham received "the Distinguished Leadership Award" from Oklahoma City University Malaysian Alumni Association. He helped developed the first American branch campus program in Tianjin, China in 1989. Later, he developed other branches in Malaysian, Singapore, and Edgehill, University in the U.K.
Dr. Dunham holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Technology and Master of TESOL from University of Oklahoma, USA. Dr. Dunham’s professional experience also includes Director of ELS Language Centers and service in the Peace Corps, Korea. In 1984, while working for a private corporation, he developed the first Language School Franchise in Korea.
Dr. Dunham has published seven books on topics of learning English, French, and Teaching Methodologies. His first novel, "The Good Luck Side of the Rice Paper Door,” was released in 2013. . He served as and co- chair of the steering committee for Transformative Learning for the University and is the founder of the Journal of Transformative Learning.
