Kris Benevento is a children’s author who writes heartfelt stories that help kids build confidence, navigate challenges, and feel supported as they grow.

As an Air Force spouse, Kris lived across the United States and around the world, raising two sons and building a life grounded in resilience, adaptability, and connection. After 32 years of marriage, the unexpected loss of her husband, Mike, an Air Force Officer, deeply shaped her perspective and strengthened her commitment to helping others through storytelling.

Her background in service—as a firefighter, EMT, Vermont State Guard Captain, and instructor—along with her work as a grief coach and death literacy specialist, brings depth, compassion, and real-world understanding to everything she creates.
