Hello! I’m Kris Benevento, an author who believes the stories we share can help us grow, heal, and stay connected through life’s changes.

As an Air Force spouse, I’ve lived across the U.S. and around the world—from New York to New Mexico, Hawaii, England, and Germany. Vermont was home for twenty-four years, and now I’m beginning a new chapter in Florida. Along the way, I raised two sons, shared 32 years of marriage with my late husband, and continue to find comfort and adventure traveling with my cat, Moonlight Graham.

My life has been shaped by service—as a firefighter, EMT, Vermont State Guard Captain, instructor, and coach. Those experiences, along with my education in Emergency Services Management and Business Administration, have deepened my understanding of resilience, growth, and the importance of showing up for others.

Growing up as one of nine siblings taught me the value of connection and the strength found in family. Today, writing allows me to pass those lessons on in a way children can understand and carry with them.

The Happy Gates Ranch series is my way of helping young readers build confidence, navigate challenges, and discover the power of friendship through meaningful, heartfelt stories.
