Overview
Bundle of Stories is a children's book that introduces the struggles of being Asian in America.
Description
Bundle of Stories is a children's book in which a seven year old second grader, Bao Ai, explores racism in her society as a result of an attack on her Asian grandmother. She uses advocacy, creates marches, and gathers her friends to champion the issue and spread awareness. A great, simple children's book to underscore society's most prominent problems and highlighting the effective ways to contribute their solutions.
About the author
Ava McCollum is a rising junior in high school, passionate about both advocacy and Asian culture. As a girl of mixed race in a society whose cultural divide is seemingly sharpening, studying and sharing the stories of Asian voices is ever important. After researching and dedicating time to exploring ways in which she can benefit the Asian community who have suffered at the hands of racism, a broken system, and the lack of justice, she has found her voice. She intends on using her children's book, Bundle of Stories, along with her organization, BOS Coalition, to give a platform to those who have endured the hardships and triumphs of what it means to be Asian in America.
