In the book Behold: I Am Made New, Michael provides transparency and honesty about his struggles with same sex attraction and pornography. At a young age, Michael found himself struggling with his identity, being ridiculed by his peers for his effeminate behavior, being exposed to sexualized movies and dealing with the shame of mildly sexual interactions with older boys. His story details his journey through his teen and adult years, where a war was waged in his spirit to either remain in the addictive and sinful cycle or listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit calling him to a relationship with a loving Heavenly Father.

"I was lost but now I am found. I was blind but now I see." These classic lyrics are meaningful for many people. However, for me they are lyrics of love and dedication to a God that rescued me from pornography and same sex attraction. At an early age, I was blind and lost in a spiritual wilderness that was full of mud, mire and tar pits that would hold me captive for more than 40 years. However, God had different plans and just as He led His chosen people, He led me through my own Exodus. Journey with me from the very beginning of my life to witness the lies and deceit of the enemy to the restorative and redeeming power that can only come from giving it all to God, obeying the voice of the Holy Spirit and coming to terms with the great love of Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross.
