Founded in 1999, Art Quilt Elements (AQE) 2020 is the 14th exhibition of this internationally acclaimed show set in suburban Philadelphia. This exhibition has been widely praised by reviewers and artists not only for exhibiting the quilts in a gallery setting but also for promoting the quilt as an art form. Originally intended for exhibition in March 2020, AQE 2020 includes work from 48 fiber artists from around the world. Juried by Lewis Knauss, Amy Orr and Robin Schwalb, this exhibition of art quilts was postponed in 2020 and then celebrated virtually in 2021. The work juried into this exhibition embraces original and innovative methods and incorporates impressive craftsmanship and technical prowess. This beautiful 64-page exhibition catalog features a full page image of each quilt accompanied by the artist's statement, as well as introductory essays by Nancy Campbell, Wayne Art Center Executive Director, and Cindy Friedman, Art Quilt Elements founder. The AQE 2020 jurors introduce the exhibition with reflections on their selection process.
