About the author
Sean’s career has taken him around the world. He has worked with some exceptional people, leaders in their field, who have taught him, as he says: “More than one could ever expect, and opened more doors than I could have ever imagined. I remain forever grateful.”
From 1999 to 2006, Sean designed and implemented the information security awareness program at Bank of America. His approach to changing a corporate culture to one that values safeguarding customer, employee, business and company sensitive information was, at that time, innovative and questioned by traditional practitioners. His concept was simple and has been recognized by regulators and peer groups for its effectiveness: Use a marketing approach across the enterprise communicating the same messages seven times, seven different ways over time by utilizing a variety of delivery channels. Today, this concept of implementing an information security awareness program is more the norm than the exception. One of the most successful components of this program is a quick reference guide for employees.
In 2007, Sean left Bank of America to start Stealth Awareness, Inc. One of the first products he produced was An Employee’s Guide to Safeguarding Sensitive Information Properly (SSIP). “Everyone who works should read this guide. It is the unintentional mishaps that cause more risk to sensitive information being lost, stolen, and used to perpetrate a fraud. Safeguarding sensitive information properly is not an alternative today, but rather a business and personal imperative,” says Sean.
Sean has also co-written “Techno Security’s Guide to Securing SCADA: A Comprehensive Handbook on Protecting the Critical Infrastructure,” and “Low Tech Hacking: Street Smarts for Security Professionals.” He has also authored “A Manager’s Guide to Safeguarding Sensitive Information Properly,” and “Holding the Moon in the Palm of Your Hand.” These last two books are only available through your favorite eBook provider.
Sean is a recognized author and popular speaker in the field of Information Security Awareness and Personal Development.
