Description

From holding him when he was a baby to cheering him on throughout life, 'Baba' shows she loves her grandson. The little boy knows he is loved and shows his grandmother that he loves her in both subtle and loving ways. This story is a heartwarming description of the loving bond between a child and a grandparent. Every grandparent will identify with some aspect of this loving story. The illustrations are delightful and bring the story to life. At the end there is a journal for children to write a story about their grandparent, and an opportunity for grandparents to share stories about how much the grandchild means to them. This is the fourth children's book by Barbara Mis Kelly inspired by her own grandchildren. Each book shares something about a child's growing up years and makes a wonderful series about healthy eating, losing teeth, loving relationships, and having fun.

About The Author

Inspired by her grandchildren, Barbara Mis Kelly has published 5 children's books. Her latest book, "A Boy and His Baba" humorously shows the great bond between a grandchild and a grandparent. It is a must reading for all grandparents!! Ms. Kelly grew up in Chicago with a love of books, reading, and writing poetry. She received her BA from the University of Illinois and a Masters in Government from Georgetown University. She taught high school government and history classes for several years, and then, while raising her family, was an active volunteer in her Irvine, CA community, church, and schools. Ms. Kelly worked as the Development Director for a parochial school in Orange, CA for 14 years, and then moved to Indiana to work at the University of Notre Dame. After retiring, she began a new 'chapter' in her life by opening Baba Books LLC and self-publishing "Let's Go to Church!" an ABC book for children to take to church. The illustrations are all by children which makes the book fascinating for children. What followed was "I'm Too Full!" inspired by her grand-daughter, about a little girl who eats healthy food and is smart and creative. "Is It Chocolate?" tells the story of a little boy (her grandson) who loves chocolate above all other 'foods,' and can even smell chocolate from across the room! "I Lost My Tooth!" was inspired by a third grandchild who lost her first 8 teeth in many different ways. There is a journal at the end for readers to record how they lost their teeth! "A Boy and His Baba" is her fifth book. Each book is delightfully illustrated. The books are a lovely collection showing the growing years of children and subtly encouraging healthy eating, good hygiene, and caring for others.
