About the author


In her early 50s, RA Cook enrolled in art school at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California to finally fulfill her dream of becoming a skilled artist and illustrator. Little did she know that this step would lead her to write and illustrate stories for children and adults. As an author, illustrator, and book designer, RA Cook published her children's picture book, Calvin Splinter & His Splendid Splinter Ideas, in 2018. Cook works out of her home studio in the San Juan Islands of Washington State and continues to write and illustrate her stories. TIRED OF LIVING NEAR DISCOURTEOUS HUMANS, GIGANTA stomps over miles of rough lava fields in the coursing rain hoping to find the trolls who left her behind when they migrated to the secret places deep within the volcanic mountains of Iceland. On the way she encounters, Gustaf, Head Scout for the Inner Earth Elves, who leads her through darkened tunnels and down treacherous paths deep within the earth. He guides her to the hidden Elf Kingdom where she meets Ilg, another troll, who lives among the elves. When an earthquake rocks the Elf Kingdom, Queen Drotti of the Elves sends Giganta, Ilg, and Gustaf on a dangerous mission to discover the cause of the terrible disruption. The journey, fraught with hardship, takes them to Musterihof, the Great Temple, where Giganta learns that all life on earth is in grave danger. With the land and their lives threatened, the three companions return to the Elf Kingdom. Using newfound skills, a cunning plan, and a little magic, they find a way to turn back the tide that is destroying the earth.
