In her early 50s, RA Cook enrolled in art school at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California to finally fulfill her dream of becoming a skilled artist and illustrator. As an author, illustrator, and book designer, RA Cook published her children's picture book, Calvin Splinter & His Splendid Splinter Ideas, in 2018. Cook works out of her home studio in the San Juan Islands of Washington State and continues to write and illustrate her stories.
