By Philip Ramsey

Overview

"13 Months" is a science fiction novelette which attempts to suggest solutions to some social problems in America. An ET scientist discusses American shortcomings with a university professor. Chapter 1 explains the title of the book, which is not related to the gestation period of a camel although the is also 13 months. Chapter 2 shows how mass shootings can be reduced or even eliminated without requiring present gun owners to give up any of their guns. Chapter 3 discusses voting in America. Chapter 4 advocates the one-person-one-vote principle. Chapter 5 describes the use of ranked voting. Chapter 6 shows how ranked voting could have reversed some previous presidential outcomes. For example, in 2016 Donald Trump could have won the popular vote if he won 69% of the third party votes.
